Vertical-Misfit

Lot of conspiracies and concern towards my whereabouts over the past year, well... WRONG! I will say that seeing the more concerned comments and apparent attempts to contact me made me feel super guilty, but, appreciated none the less and I'm sorry for being away so long! Not my fault! Anyway, I'm not gonna go into too much detail as to where i have been, because... well i could just go on forever. It's been an insane year... more insane than usual. Why always pick on me God/s!? The gist is:

* Last October; Rich client delayed work payment for large house i built him.

* Dept. Lot of builders merchants wanting money and other tradesmen needing paying.

* I had to work crap loads more weekends and long days to get out of dept.

* PC died at a similar time and couldn't afford a new one.

* I got seriously ill again, had to live on the 'new PC fund' money i had saved. * Back to work, raised money for PC... dog got ill. Spent PC money on vet bills and gained more dept again, yey. * Still working ridiculous hours, managed to raise money for PC again... Then our village got Noah-ed and we all got flooded out. Couldn't work coz car was drowned and everything in the downstairs in the house was ruined. Fun times. *Had to buy a super cheap and very old caravan to live like a gypsy for a month on a tacky caravan site (trailer park) whilst house was repaired by SLOW landlord. * Eventually flooding cleared and I got back home. Decided what little money i had spare (after paying for new essential appliances) would be better spent on a pre-owned log burner than a PC, because there's no way i could afford to fill the oil heating tank at the current rates and winter was coming fast... and wood is free and literally part of the waste from my job. :3 * By December; dog illness finally fathomed out and on the mend(hopefully), house dried out and mostly back in order, car "running" for now, friend gave me an old PC, mooching new neighbors internet, no work coz wet, winter and no one wants construction/renovations at Xmas. Life is great!

I'm alive, extremely poor and in mild dept, but, i have a warm house, plenty of potatoes and beans, a recovering dog, a 25yr old honda on its last legs and lots of free time for the next few weeks, so here i am. I'M BACK BABY! And NO! I REALLY don't want to be swamped with commission requests! Money be damned, I haven't drawn ANYTHING in over a year, i wanna do me stuffs and chillax finally! Blarghhhh!

Anywho, and now to respond to a lot of comments and notes... 27k?! WTF?! Most of that better just be art/journal uploads and not comments! ...Delete all? Easy road, woo!

How have you guys been? Anyone done anything interesting, been anyway good or had some good calamities too?

Well... yeahhh.... This weeks efforts with the trap-cam are worse than last time... and i used bait this time too! So first up, the morning after i put some chicken scraps down as bait, they did some police dog training in the wood and one of the dogs sniffed out and swiped mah chicken! XD Luckily it wasn't interested in the camera though... i dunno if that makes it a good police dog or a useless one.

Then the day after when i used a boiled egg as bait... and another Police dog swiped that too. But this dog is special, because apparently it has a sparkle-butt.... >>; not sure how that's a thing, but camera's don't lie!

So other than near spontaneous stinging-nettle growth, i didn't get any wildlife photos this time. Boo! However i did get the worlds most impressive lens flare in almost 20 separate photos, so, that's something... worthless, but something. (This must have happened after 8pm, because that is the only time of day that the sun is in that direction).

...............yeahhh, well that was really disappointing! I think I preferred the 'fox ears' from last week. Lesson learned, keep the cam FAR off of the natural game trails and don't use bait because it just attracts random police dogs. (The woodland is used for Police dog training but i was told no training was happening for a few weeks.... THEY LIE! Useless farmer wanted me to get mauled!). Nevermind! Next week i'll try catch some badgers because I've been given a possible 'badger set' location... if i can find it. Its near a river bank on a 4 mile stretch of river between two towns, under some tree's... or it used to be, according to a random old guy with a dog. Helpful!

So I've booked myself a week off from commission's this week to do a couple pics of my own as a break (and do some DIY >_< ). What I really want to get done is a looong overdue re-vamp of my old macro 'Alexus', Vex's crazy stalker. She was my second ever macro I invented/drew, but soon became forgotten. I think she needs a come back and a bit of a re-vamp. It's been like 12-15 years now since i last drew her. (Poor girl was shadowed by Poms arrival).

Anyway, I need some ideas. When you think 'crazy person', what kind of clothes and accessories come to mind? The plan is to go 'full Arkham Asylum' crazy. Have her become a complete sociopath, but with a twisted desire to find new friends... as she keeps 'breaking' the old ones. Also she will be the kind of macro girl who treats the world as a toy-box full of 'dolls' and doesn't really see people as anything other than her property/ torment victims. She'll be one of those 'ant-bully' types who throws a tantrum when she doesn't have her way and as a result, is extremely dangerous to be in the presence of (if you aren't giant). So far most of my initial thoughts are much crazier and scruffier hair. More insane/ piercing eyes. Torn clothes with some stripey leggings or long sleeve gloves. Maybe a mini-skirt over pants/trousers too. Also gonna give her a creepy plushie as an accessory. Also she will have a pierced tongue with a chain and cage attached to it, that she swallows to trap her her 'boyfriend/girlfriend' victims so that they can't get away. Also i am thinking dark black outfit with a lot of bold purples and luminous green details, with maybe some black and white striped tights/sleeves. Kinda 'Halloweeny' looking. I dunno, I'm just brainstorming for now. I got a rough idea/plan in my head, but it needs tweaking. Any ideas anyone? I'm open to any thoughts you might have on this. What do you think of when you think 'CRAZY'? >>; and yeah, i mean besides me!

I was just responding to 'Vonfoxfires' comment and link to the 'Grand Tour' series, where they use Cars for an improvised 'battleship' game. (you sunk my battleship!). Anyway, I got thinking; I wonder how many basic old school games/toys can be recreated for macros with just a little initiative and imagination, using day to day things and stuff you can find around the world. >>; We need some way of getting them out of the blatant 'mass genocide and city destruction' routine. XD Example: Bowling! All you need is some bus's and a a wrecking ball to bowl! ...>>; preferably empty buses. Let's see how many other ideas we can come up with! Dominoes: Buses, shipping containers or buildings can be used. Darts: Planes, submarines, flag poles, street light poles and electric pylons. Mouse trap: I'm sure a fun fair/theme park can be modified for this game. Hot wheels car track: Again, theme park combined with a race track. Or if its late night, use your own big body.

Bobbing for apples: All you need is a lake and a bunch of people or small boats! A lake at a damn would be good, because then they wouldn't have to kneel down. Or just fill up a stadium with water . Hoop toss: Any Ferris wheel can be used. London would be perfect, you have the 'Shard' and the 'London Eye'. Complete game set! XD Jacks: Those military X-shaped things they used to hold barbed wire up might work. (what they used on the Normandy beach landings >>; inappropriate, i know, sorry... but they would work! ). Pogs and tiddlywinks: Manhole and sewer covers. Kerplunk: A tanker truck/ large water tank, poke some holes in it and use lamp posts as the sticks and any balls will do. Obvious one is Roller skates: Vehicles and trailers tied to the feet. Skateboard could be made with a long heavy-plant low loader trailer. Also of the macro was smaller, you could grind down roller coasters or mountain rail road tracks. Bow and arrow: Big tree and some power-lines/ suspension bridge cables. With a few telegraph poles or street lamps as arrows. Kayaking: A hollowed out Submarine or bottom half of a large boat... i'm sure a paddle could be improvised. Boxcar/soap-box car/ go-kart: One of those HUGE yellow quarry trucks would be good, if not, well i'm sure we could weld some monster trucks to a boat or something. Pool donut: If the macro was smaller, you might get away with a large tractor tire inner tube, or maybe again one of those giant quarry trucks, their wheels are like 10ft tall. So, a 10ft waist would be kinda ok if the macro was 20-30ft tall. XD Skies: I'm not sure anything would be rigid enough. I guess possibly a couple of squashed ships, with some crane booms welded into a burger, that might hold for a makeshift snowboard. Ball games/sports? Hmm.... what could be used as a ball that won't break a toe? .....Blimps and hot air balloon's would be kinda light.... errr.. I'll have to come back to that one. Hot air balloons would be good for macro kids though. Slip n' slide: Rubber pond liner, a hill and some trucks full of soap... maybe some water pumps going to, or a fire truck at least. Bingo: XD Any pensioner macros could use a cement truck and some numbered soccer balls. And some billboards for the cards. Paper airplanes: Billboards again! Buckaroo: Use a real donkey! XD Poor thing! Hungry hungry hippos: ...............too far. XD Hockey: Redwood tree caved into a stick and wrecking ball. Or, for ice hockey, you'd need to go to Russia for thick enough ice and then stomp some cars flat for pucks. A crushed tanker trailer would probably be a perfect puck shape. Tic-tac-toe/ O's and X's: Either use one of those sports field line painters and a skyscraper window (already has a grid)... or, for a more materialistic game, use some large tires and rob some church crosses. XD I'm sure no one would notice that! ...Ok fine, use some planks to make X's. Fencing/ play sword fights: Pylons and poles again. Chess: You could use city buildings. It would work better in the US because their road networks are always basic square grids. XD Definitely would not work in England. Extreme sports and leisure activities are the tough ones. Not many things are durable enough for those. XD I guess you could rig some cranes together with some pool covers to make a glider. And maybe use suspension bridge cables for mountain climbing.... even though mountains aren't really mountains to macros.... >>;;;;; nevermind.

Something else you could do; Use a bunch of water towers and those round gas domes as drums. A hollowed out tree and tie some power-lines for a Guitar. And a tanker truck with some rocks in it for a maraca. You've practically got the start of a macro band! XD And for a beauty spa, as well as the obvious lake/swimming pool/ stadium bath. A team of guys with grinders and paint for your nail manicure. A temporary tattoo of a race track on your back for a 'car-massage'. And I'm sure you could use a tractor and lawnmower/hedge-trimmer for shaving and hair cuts. Maybe use a road paving machine to apply some hot wax too. Ok ok, lets just stick with games and toys for now! anyone else got any fun or constructive ways for macros to play and kill time... without genocide, leveling cities or being too kinky? XD

VEX'S 25th ANNIVERSARY

which also means I am now closer to 40 than 30, gettin' old! I meant to make an animated montage of all the pics of Vex i have drawn to celebrate this, buuuuut... i completely forgot because I've been distracted with commissions and all the days and dates have merged, haha. Nevermind!

anyway!

It is now 25 years since i first drew Vex as a kid! (Below) This is the very original picture. (Sonic fan-characters were naked back then, haha).

A little history: Vex was created way back in the 90's when I was in Elementary School and 'Sonic The Hedgehog' was booming! All the kids used to run around pretending to be sonic in the playground. (That was when imagination existed and no phones. lol). Anyway, there was only 4 sonic characters back then who weren't 'badniks', so i started drawing my own OC's and soon after i started drawing OC's for almost everyone in school. (tiny village school, only 36 students). Vex was not my first character, but he is the one that has stuck with me for the last 25 years.

Vex was actually meant to be a 'fennec fox' and not an arctic fox, hence the ears. But I decided i liked the blue and white colors better than 'lame yellow'. XD Blue was the cool color back then... these days its mostly red and black that are popular, haha. Most of the earlier art of Vex was just him showing off, either by snowboarding or just doing extreme sports in general. (snow boarding was seen as super cool back then because Sonic did it in Sonic 3 and kids always copy their heroes, haha). I've always loved cartoons and animation, in fact even today i prefer animation to realism and live action TV. So, obviously i couldn't wait to get Vex in digital clean smooth color. No more pen and pencil 'overlap' lines for me! Without any help or a clue, i dived in and started playing with 'Photoshop elements 2.0' ... which i STILL use today on every pic... and SAI!)

The first digital pic of Vex: After leaving school and friends moved on and away with their jobs and the art shops and galleries started to shut. I started to realize that no one would ever see my art so it was starting to feel kinda pointless drawing all the time. I started thinking ''what was the point in drawing if no one ever saw it?'' Anyway, my buddy 'John' showed me DA and convinced me to get the internet (again, not normal back then) and come online. Thus began the 18 years of DA life!

So soon after i joined DA, I ditched the 'blue' from Vex's outfit for the first time and he also gained a more 'human' body as i broke away from my Sonic fandom.

This worked out well for Vex at first, because for a few years he was really popular with the sonic fangirls, haha. Also he got an endless amount of fanart back then too! But then the 'Fuzzballz' project started!

FuzzballZ project: The fuzzballz project was meant to be a series of animated shorts i was creating for Newgrounds.com (before the youtube boom). I simplified all my characters down to make them easier to animate and spent months between my job, working on 'recyclable' props and background art for various common scenes and settings. How before it got past a couple of 'test animations', i found out my fiancee' was unfaithful... VERY unfaithful. And that put me in a depressed slump which cost me my job. Then soon after my old man kicked my out on the streets and a month later my dog died too.... yeah... fun times. ANYWAY! Obviously i did manage to get back on my feet with the help of a crazy old feminist and a local builder.

So once again I had money and access to the internet and to a PC, so, with not having the time to do the 'fuzzballz' project, i decided to return to DA and give Vex a new look. I ditched the shoes and made his outfit much more simplistic. I wanted a more carefree look over badass murdernator, haha. I also opted to do more silly quick cartoon strips.

This lead to a few random friendly 'p*ss take' pictures of my friends, which also eventually lead to the start of the 'FUZZWAR'. A bunch of my friends and friends of friends started drawing random silly attack pictures against one another. It was mostly Fox Vs Bunnies, but the general public got in on the action and we ended up with people of all shapes and sizes drawing fun attack pics. When i say 'attack' i mean less gun and bombs, more 'pie throwing and head shaving' haha.

The 'fuzzwar' also resulted in needed a simpler design for Vex to cut drawing time and allow me more time to draw addition 'attack pictures'. So he regressed to a more toony look and lost his 'human-body shape' again.

Prior to the Fuzzwar, in a random one off pic i gave Vex a giant pet tiger. At the time i didn't know about macro's or vore or any strange fetishes. I'd just always wanted a giant pet tiger or dragon since i was a kid.

Anyway, with the Fuzzwar happening, i used my 'Kitty' as a weapon and draw several pictures of her noming the bunnies. Soon after this and when the fuzzwar ended on peaceful terms... (rivalry will never end! XD ) I started to get more and more demand for Kitty. This also resulted in discovering i had a macro fetish.

Mel was Vex's first official step into the giantess world, Originally his roommate, she has also evolved since then to a full goddess. Soon after more and more giant ladies followed Vex's adventures in Giantess playtime and madness thrived! woo! He also gained a love for cookies and much MUCH simpler mind too. Fun and lazy days are what he values most now! Vex also has no real consistency now. He's personality and 'powers' change to suite the theme of each random pic. He is purely the fun victim/ prop in macro shenanigans.

Sadly in 2008 the global recession happened and it was back to the dark ages, so once again Vex and I vanished for a while.

2010: With life running smoothly it was time for a fresh start, so Vex got another new look which is the current look he has today. And i created this 'Vertical-Misfit' account here on DA. Vex is no longer the little kid who wanted to be in the limelight and crowd pleasing by showing off and doing all crazy extreme sports. He's no longer the teenage, dark grim monster slayer with lacking social skills. He is also no longer the calm martial artist looking to find where he belongs in the world and in search of life's answers, whilst trying to survive. Now he's just a silly goofball with the mind of a kid, looking for fun and cookies! Because who cares about working hard and trying to be popular, or worrying about anything bad... when you can bounce on a giant pair of boobies! woo! 36 years of ups and downs to finally realize the key to a happy life is... COOKIES AND BOOBS!

I really appreciate it and its why i continue to share Vex's crazy adventures with the world! Originally he was called 'Arctix': It was only after i started DJing at 18 that i changed his name to Vex. When i was DJing, i was looking through the thesaurus for a name and i wanted alternative words that meant 'annoy' and i came across 'vexed' and 'vexing'... hence 'The VeX' (which was my DJ name). Back then if you googled 'Vex' their was no results at all until i started using it. Its why i liked it! XD There was no other Vex's online! * Then that little monkey guy called 'Vexx' appeared in a video game. * Then 'Skyrim' was released and everyone without any imagination who made a white-haired female character called it Vex. Named after the in game character from the thieves guild. * Then 'Destiny' was released and thanks to their 'Vex-race', now EVERYONE IS CALLED VEX! Unoriginal gits! How dare you make my genius common! kinda hard to come up with NEW names these days.
